I want a dog and he doesn't

I don't understand why my stupid lifemate won't let me have a dog.  I grew up with animals my whole life and I always wanted a cat and a dog.  I understand why he doesn't want a cat.  They're great but they have to be inside most of the time.  They can't live outside whereas a dog can.  A dog can live in a dog house and doesn't really ever need to be indoors especialy here in Ottawa, Canada.  They do their business outdoors which is why I don't know why he refuses to let me have one.  I told him many times that I would take care of it and that I would walk it.  I even promised that I would never let it in the house but he still refuses.  I’m so upset because I feel like posting many lifemates complaints. I need an animal in my life to calm me down during times of stress.  There's nothing like hugging and cuddling a cat or dog when you're upset.  Posting this lifemates complaint is just an alturnitive to releasing my stress.
